CTEC Students Inspire at Fresno County’s STEM for Girls Conference
On October 19, 2024, students from Career Technical Education Charter High School proudly participated as presenters at the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools’ annual STEM for Girls conference. Designed to inspire young women in 6th-10th grade to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields, this one-day event gave participants opportunities to connect with STEM professionals, engage in hands-on activities, and learn about exciting career pathways.
This year marked CTEC’s fourth year presenting Virtual Welding at the conference. As one of the few student-led sessions in a lineup largely composed of professionals and educators, our students shared their expertise on welding fundamentals, including essential safety practices and insights into how welding technology operates. Participants then enjoyed the opportunity to test their skills on Miller Virtual Welders and explore 3D pens with custom-built plates, giving them hands-on experience and a real-world taste of welding applications.
CTEC is proud of our student presenters for their leadership and dedication to inspiring the next generation of STEM innovators. Their participation exemplifies our commitment to empowering young women in STEM and fostering a future-ready workforce.
