10th graders are building foundational skills by creating topographical maps in World History class! 🌍🗺️ This project introduces them to the role of geography in historical events as they practice using maps and geographic tools. 📚 These skills lay the groundwork for a deeper dive into the course and consequences of WWI and are integrated with their English unit on the classic novel All Quiet on the Western Front. By connecting subjects, integrated learning boosts student engagement and deepens their understanding, making lessons more meaningful and relevant. 🌟
🚀 Big shoutout to Jacob Cavazos for representing CTEC at the Fresno County Board of Education meeting as our student rep! 🏫 Jacob highlighted application season for our seniors, sharing some of the amazing universities they’re applying to. 🎓 He also celebrated our success at the Fresno Fair with 8 entries and 9 awards—so proud of our Titans! 🏆 And he wrapped it up by spotlighting our all-women welding competition team, showing that Titans break barriers and set the standard.

From studying U.S. history to analyzing the significance of memorials, our students embarked on a powerful journey last fall. They collaborated with Dr. Barlow Der Mugrdechian from @fresno_state to delve into the meaning behind the Armenian Genocide Memorial, using this knowledge to inspire their own impactful designs. Through this project, they gained hands-on experience in fabrication techniques, honed their collaboration skills, and applied their learning from multiple classes—English, history, design, welding, and their CTE pathway courses.
