Bryan Sheldon
Mathematics Teacher
bsheldon@fcoe.org

Bryan Sheldon began his career in 1999, teaching undergraduates while pursuing his master’s degree in pure mathematics at University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill. Returning home to Fresno, he has been called to local high school instruction since 2004, teaching for Central and Caruthers Unified before joining CTEC. In order to remain connected to higher education and current advances in education, he serves as adjunct faculty for both Fresno City College and the Fresno Pacific University School of Education. He goes by a number of aliases: On the mat in the dojo, he goes by Snapping Twig– it makes sense when you see him! Not to mention the joy he experiences when breaking stuff. In the classroom, it’s Sheldon– the Big Bang reference is not lost here, but he’s a lot more like Leonard. He is passionate for his subject and cares greatly for his students. His online handle is PiProf– his love for connections between nature and mathematics is the inspiration. He is ecstatic about the applied approach to teaching and learning being implemented here at CTEC.
