Student Transformation

Holistic Student Transformation: At CTEC, the goal extends beyond academic achievement to encompass the overall development of students into successful, well-rounded individuals. The focus is on nurturing professionalism, leadership, citizenship, and a passion for lifelong learning. This approach ensures that students are prepared to excel in all aspects of their lives.

Education at CTEC is seen as a collective journey, where success is not solely an individual accomplishment but a shared endeavor. Students are encouraged to support and uplift each other, fostering a collaborative environment where mutual assistance and shared success are integral to the educational experience.

Project-Based Learning

Project-Based Learning (PBL) at CTEC offers students the opportunity to engage with subject standards through hands-on, immersive projects. This approach allows students to see how different subject areas are interconnected and how mastering these subjects enhances their readiness for college and careers.

At CTEC, real-world application is central to the academic experience. Students collaborate in teams to develop meaningful connections between their classroom learning and practical, real-world challenges. These teams spend extended periods investigating and responding to authentic, complex questions, problems, or challenges. This sustained focus helps students deepen their understanding, build critical thinking skills, and apply their knowledge in ways that prepare them for success beyond high school.

Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment at CTEC is a valuable partnership with Fresno City College that allows students to take college-level classes while still in high school, earning both college and high school credits for the same course. This program offers several key benefits for students:

  1. Smoother Transition to College: Participating in Dual Enrollment helps ease the transition from high school to college by giving students firsthand experience with college-level academics. This early exposure can build confidence and better prepare students for the demands of higher education.
  2. Cost-Efficient College Credits: Dual Enrollment offers a cost-effective way to earn college credits, as the courses are free for CTEC students. This can significantly reduce the overall cost of a college education.
  3. Opportunity to Earn an Associate's Degree: Students may be able to earn an associate's degree either shortly before or soon after graduating from CTEC, giving them a head start on their post-secondary education and career goals.

Dual Enrollment at CTEC not only enriches students' academic experiences but also provides a strategic advantage in their educational and career pathways.

Community Impact

CTEC believes in the importance of instilling the values of community partnership and civic responsibility in our students. Our focus on civic projects allows students to apply the skills they’ve learned in the classroom and innovation center to make a tangible impact on families within our community. These projects can range from a few days to several weeks, transforming the worksite into a dynamic classroom where students, teachers, and industry partners collaborate to benefit the community through work-based learning.

Through these experiences, students not only hone their technical skills but also learn the value of giving back, reinforcing the importance of using their education to make a positive difference in the lives of those around them.

Career and College Readiness

CTEC students will acquire essential skills, certifications, and industry connections that will prepare them to seek employment after graduation, advance their education through apprenticeships, or pursue higher education opportunities. By partnering with the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools and CTEC's industry partners, students engage in a variety of enriching activities, including industry tours, panels, guest speakers, skill training, job shadowing, and internships. These experiences provide students with valuable opportunities to work directly with employers in real-world settings, allowing them to develop specialized skills for careers in manufacturing and construction.

CTEC is dedicated to developing students who possess the knowledge and skills essential for success in both college programs and the modern workforce. To stand out in the competitive 21st-century industry, CTEC students will cultivate learning and innovation skills, focusing on creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. These core competencies are at the heart of CTEC’s approach to establishing career and college readiness.
